041 Canoeing - Another Perspective

I was really looking forward to Mega 10. Canoeing wasn't my first prefrence but I was still really hyped up. Mega 10 went off really well. We were really surprised with the amount of freedom we got on the first few days at the showgrounds. The Gaolhouse Rock was a bit weak but like usual in Scouting you have to know how to make your own fun.

Me and my friend Kylie looked after the KOREAN troop that the Scout Association seemed to neglect. It was like they came all the way to Australia and then the Association didn't want to know them.

Anyway, like I said, I went on the Canoeing expedition. We had a lot of fun. I'm not going into details about what we did every day but I'll just cap on the best and most memorable experiences for me.

We met the troop and a group of us five girls became good mates. Kylie, Brooke, Belinda, Cheryl and me (Kathryn). We gave the leaders a lot of crap one night as we got fed on rations and were expected to paddle 27km or something stupid the next day. Anyway, a lot of people classified it as the entertainment. It was something where you can't understand unless you were there.

The last night of the four day camp was best. We met up with the River Rats and had a party that went off. We were having so much fun and then when we broke the 4th floorboard, we got kicked out and had 20 minutes before the electricity got turned off.

OH THE BEST THING THAT DIDN"T GET PRINTED.
We were waterskiing and a stupid boat tried to jump our wake. It was a flat bottomed dingy and it tipped right upside down. There were four 40 year oldish people in the boat and of course they thought there was no need to wear life jackets. I could see that they wouldn't have to if they could swim. The lady couldn't swim. Anyway, being Scouts we saved their lives. DIDN"T EVEN MAKE IT INTO THE PAPER!!!!!

I was knee boarding at the time and suddenly I got told to let go. I did, then the boat told me to get in. I was really confused and did as they said. We roared over to the boat and the leaders said "If you can swim, jump in!" We helped the peole into the boat and retrieved the lifejackets that were in a plastic bag tied up, with the petrol tanks and stuff!!!. We swam their boat to the shore and tried to start it up. NO WAY, the motor was stuffed. So we had to tie the boat to our baots and take it where they launched it up the river.

UM yeah. I can't be bothered writing much more about what happened. Except MEGA 10 WAS GREAT!!!!!!! and I LOVE SE-WOONG!!!!
