All unit flags must be lettered with the type of unit, unit number, town, and state. Top Half, Line 1 Type of unit (Crew or Ship) and unit number. Top Half, Line 2 Chartered institution's name (optional). Ships may add unit name, if they have one, following chartered institution's name, space permitting. Lower Half, Line 1 Town or city (geographical name) and name of state (usually abbreviated). Lower Half, Line 2 Council Name (optional).
